The body is bluish-gray above, light below. Like the skipjack, it lacks a swim bladder. The back from the tail to the dorsal fin is colored with longitudinal oblique dark stripes, dark spots under the pectoral fins. The largest recorded parameters: length - 100 cm, weight - 14 kg.

It is found in open waters, but always close to the coastline and, as a rule, near the surface. It forms multi-species flocks, in which there can be up to 5000 individuals. Easily adaptable to changing conditions of existence predator. The main food is small fish, especially herrings and slats, as well as crustaceans, squids and plankton. In the Seychelles, it is caught on every fishing trip and is actively used by us as bait for trolling and bottom fishing.

The light brown body, head and vertical fins are camouflaged with hexagonal dark brown spots that increase towards the back of the body.

The largest recorded parameters: length - 120 cm, weight - 11 kg, life expectancy - 40 years. Found at the bottom of lagoons, channels and other reef waters, feeds on fish, crabs and squid. Active at dusk. May cause ciguaterra.

Wahoo (Acanthocybium solandri), or Wahoo Large, is a representative of the mackerel family, whose main habitats are tropical seas.

The body of the wahoo has an elongated, spindle-shaped shape. Dark above, bluish-green, iridescent, silvery sides with a characteristic brindle color - numerous dark stripes tapering to the belly. The largest recorded parameters: length - 250 cm, weight - 83 kg.

An oceanic species, found more often singly, rarely in small flocks. It feeds on fish and squid. A case is known when an old fish called ciguaterra. A very common trophy in the Seychelles.
