Dorado

Dorado (Coryphaenae hyppurus), or Rainbow Mackerel

One of the most brightly colored oceanic species with a dorsal fin from head to tail. The flanks are gold, with a metallic blue and green back. Below the fish is yellow and white. In dead fish, the color fades greatly. The largest recorded parameters: length - 210 cm, weight - 40 kg. The longest recorded life expectancy is 4 years. Found offshore and offshore. Forms flocks. It feeds on almost all kinds of small fish, zooplankton, crustaceans and squid. A very common trophy in the Seychelles. Good for grilling.
